Messer Story: Expanding the portfolio

Bad Soden, Germany. - Bad Soden, Germany. - In the anniversary year 2018 - from now on until December - we will tell the exciting story of the Messer family business.

Messer commences with electric welding. Research and development work starts in 1928. Soon it becomes clear: If the company really wants to win over customers for electric welding, then it will need high-quality welding electrodes for its equipment. 1930 sees the beginning of welding electrode manufacturing in a special immersion procedure.

As the first manufacturer of oxyacetylene equipment, Messer starts with the production of electric welding machines in 1931. 1932 sees the arrival of extruded covered electrodes for arc welding. But Messer does not restrict itself only to the development of electrodes, but also develops the ""Kopol"" converter that converts alternating current into direct current which is more suitable for arc welding.
